Narrative:
On the day that their parents die, sisters vanish in the wilderness, prompting a frantic search by their Uncle and his girlfriend. miraculously, the girls are found alive in a decaying cabin, Their uncle welcome them into his home. But as the girlfriend tries to reintroduce the children to a normal life, unexplainable things happened in the house... Only the kids can see this "MAMA" creature. The uncles girlfriend finds that someone or something still wants to tuck them in at night.

Characters:

Two children are attached to a horrific creature; in the trailer you can tell that kids feel trapped and uncomfortable with their surroundings. The uncle who is represented as a relative who truly care for those kids took them in into his house. And finally the girlfriend of the uncle is a caring yet creeped out person because of the "MAMA".

Iconography:

The thing the causes this movie to be a horror movie is because of the jump scares, haunted house, invisible creatures, scared children and involves a spirit.

Settings:

It is mostly set in the uncles house, everything that happens to the kids is in the household.

Action / Sci-Fi / Fantasy 

Narrative:
From the trailer you can tell that the narrative is about conflict, fight between Batman and Superman for power. There could be a story twist since the trailer doesn't show or give a lot of detail about the movie.

Character:
The main characters is Batman and Superman. Superman is a out of this world human, containing over powered strength and god like powers... in the trailer he is shown as a threat to Batman and someone who is a threat to this world. Batman is shown as a hero, strong, powerful mastermind and relied on  to save us.

Iconography:
There is plenty of iconography typical of the action / fantasy genres: gunshots, violence, god like humans with super powers, technology, explosions and smashing glass. All of these are typical of the action fantasy genres.

Setting:
Even though its not clear where the setting is. its fair to say its set in America judging by the court scene and the language is spoken. Another place where they could be is in Gotham predicting this by the batman scene.

The movie I will be analysing is: Guardians of the galaxy

GENRE AND SUB-GENRE

In my opinion the genre in this movie is mainly science fiction. This is because the overall setting is in the future, with futuristic concept technologies along with space travel between planets and different civilisations. This is obvious that the main mode of transport as being spacecrafts and there being multiple fight scenes with these space crafts. One of the more quirky characters is also a genetically modified (Rocket) the raccoon.
Arguably one of the things that does not make this a more 'pure' sci fi film the sarcasm and characters within the film make it a more fun experience than a film such as Star Trek or Star Wars. For example little things like when in the plan to escape the prison, Rocket asks for a mans prosthetic leg then later on when confronted about why is was needed he simply laughs and says 'I thought it would be funny' Also, Groot makes for some silly moments as the only thing he can say is 'I am groot' and the only one who can understand him is Rocket. What makes it humorous is how you have to rely on HOW he says it to understand what he has said.
Another obvious genre that guardians of the galaxy is action. We can see this in the way that the film is scripted and played out to the viewer.  It follows the rather bland plot of: all is well, hero gets dragged into something, finds out the world/universe needs saving, gets some friends, goes to prevent the villain from destroying everything, it seems like all hope is lost, there is a big final battle and eventually the universe is just about saved. 

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE PLOT

Brash space adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when he discovers the orb's true power and the cosmic threat it poses, Quill must rally his ragtag group to save the universe.

SETTING OF THE MOVIE

The movie has a setting that is linked massively with science fiction because most of the movie is set on different planets and outer space, and once set in a futuristic prison for all types of creatures. Pretty much all of the creatures are unknown and not many humans.

CHARACTERS

Even the characters are linked with the genre sci-fi just simply because some of the characters art seen on earth before.

Star lord : is a human who wares a suit and has futuristic technology along side him to survive with all the other creatures. 

Groot : is a super natural living and moving tree. He can grow roots to get things high or far away...just like roots grow. overall he is a super hero that only can say " Im Groot"

Gamora : is hated by every body because she either stole from them killed their loved one or landed them in the space prison ... she has green skin and highly professional in fighting.

Rocket: is a speaking racoon who has ultimate weapons and he is the only character in the movie who understands what Groot says. him and root work together to earn money and hunt people to get that money.

Dax the Destroyer : has killed many in battles and has fought many times in the movie, he has lost his family because they were killed by the villain in the movie (Thanos)

THEME

the theme of the movie is a picture of space wars ,prison breakout, mission to savethe world from a very powerful villain.

Mostly all of the reviews were amazing and positive about the movie because they truly made a interesting fictional movie.

TARGET AUDIENCE 

The production team has aimed this movie for teenagers mostly and young adults because most of the people who followed or follow the comic types the would enjoy this movie the most. the age range can go from 14 - 25 year olds... gender 65% males rather than females... its aimed at middle class people more like to an average person.

HSBC ADVERT PROJECT

My HSBC advert has Randy Ortan on it because he is a man with different personalities, also the words written on the pictures represent him perfectly. As you see this picture you judge him straight away these words on top do reinforce those stereotypes and gives you an outside of the box point of view. I chose the words "champion", "arrogant", "dangerous" because these words have represented Randy at one time in his life, and people known him for being like that.

I can improve my work just a little more by choosing a better picture that would represent these words a bit more.

The target audience for this adverts are older kids, teenagers, and young adults. This is because WWE appeals to younger audience.

GROUP MOVIE PROJECT

My group members are Me, Rashida, Gus and Tariq.

The film title we came up with is "The Real Earth Landers" because our plot of the movie relates to the title massively and its basically means what it says.

Other than the Sci-Fi genre we had, we had sub-genres to our movie. we had action adventure, and some hints of fantasy, because we chose to have an alien invasion and the setting of the movie is dystopia.

Basically another race of creature who are the old earth population left earth and now the came back to claim back what was for them before.Humans dig a hole underground and expand it so so that all people that live on earth are underground approximately 5 millions aliens. Aliens come along suddenly find the hole and set a bomb. It leads to the aliens finding the humans and its a cause of humans vs aliens.

In this movie there are aspects of Sci-Fi because its unreal and there's scenes of things that will never happen in real life, such as the robots having feelings. Also I Robot it has hints of action and adventure because there is a chase in some scenes.

Conventions for this movie is futuristic and you know this by watching the robots with human figures and characteristics. This movie has a moral behind it.

The target audience who watch it are mostly teenagers, young adults, and mostly men.

Avatar

In this movie there are aspects of Sci-Fi because its unreal and there's scenes of things that will never happen in real life, such as the blue avatar creatures who live in a massive tree full of dead peoples souls. Also Avatar it has hints of action and adventure because there is a chase in some scenes, with guns and weapons.

Conventions for this movie is futuristic and you know this by watching the humans in avatar with future armour figures and bad ass characteristics. This movie has a moral behind it. and its if you kill 1 you affect the entire population.

In this movie there are aspects of Sci-Fi because its unreal and there's scenes of things that will never happen in real life, such as the aliens coming down and gods living amongst us. Also Avenger it has hints of action and adventure because there is a chase in some scenes, with guns and weapons.

I am looking forward to making the music video because i can show off my editing skills and tune it to the song that's playing with it.

I hope I learn how to make the perfect movie and what's good and bad about movies so you can do better in the future.

What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media?
I really want to achieve an A* because I think I am completely able to achieve that grade.

The last TV show i watched was Prison Break on Netflix, the last movie i watched was Kingsmen.

Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience?
because they make the audience interacted with them and make them watch more of them.
